Feed In Tariff Contracts
If your business has installed, or plans to install renewable energy technology such as solar panels or a wind turbine, then a feed-in tariff can earn you money for any electricity generated.
You will be paid for the electricity your system produces; which includes the amount you consume and any extra electricity you export to the grid.
Working with suppliers, we will ensure the contracts are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner, ensuring you are paid the full and correct amounts for generating your own renewable energy.
If you have already installed electricity-generating technology, we can help to set up Feed-in Tariff on your accounts.
How do Feed-in Tariffs work?
Feed-in Tariffs operate in a fairly simple manner, and we’ve summarised this for you below:
- Electricity is generated by the technology you have installed (solar PV, wind turbines, etc.) and your electricity supplier pays you a set amount for each unit of electricity your system generates.
- Your business uses the electricity generated; becoming self-sufficient, rather than drawing power from the grid.
- Any electricity your business doesn’t use is then exported back to the grid. Your business will be paid an export tariff – different rules apply to different systems sizes.
- If you require additional power, you simply import this from the grid via your normal electricity supply.
How can I benefit from a Feed-in Tariff?
If your business is eligible for a Feed-in Tariff, you will enjoy several key benefits:
Generation tariff – for each unit (or kWh) of electricity you generate, your energy supplier will pay you a set rate. Once you have registered for a FiT, the tariff levels are guaranteed for up to 20 years (the period of the tariff).
Export tariff – for each unit you export back to the grid, you will receive an additional reimbursement (pence/kWh) from your energy supplier – meaning you can profit from any electricity you generate but don’t use.
Cheaper energy bills – because generating your own power means you won’t have to purchase as much (if any) electricity from your energy supplier, you will be able to enjoy savings on your commercial energy bills.
